20th Century Fox and Josh Trank have not been shy about showing us the new superhero costumes from the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. Gone is the bright blue spandex adorned with a giant 4. In its place is a black tactical suit that looks like it would be worn by a member of S.W.A.T. or someone about to do some very dangerous stunts on a BMX bike. Total Film has released 4 more images from the summer adventure, giving us a better look at Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm, Miles Teller as Reed Richards and Kate Mara as Sue Storm.
This new Fantastic Four is said to be inspired by Marvel's Unlimited Fantastic Four comic books, the Amblin films of the 80s and David Cronenberg's 'body horror' masterpieces such as The Fly and Scanners, which should prove to be an interesting mix. The story follows four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
This is the third in a wave of new photos that continue to show off these iconic Marvel characters in their new early incarnations. It isn't known when we'll finally get to see Johnny Storm 'flame on' to become The Human Torch, or when we'll get a full reveal of Jamie Bell as The Thing. We probably won't see the full-length trailer for at least another month. In the meantime, take a look at three of the four main leads as they take on the challenges of extreme body morphing:
