Simon Kinberg has been hired to write Josh Trank's upcoming reboot of Fantastic Four. Jeremy Slater, Michael Green, Seth Grahame-Smith and T.S. Nowlin have all worked on previous drafts of the reboot for Fox as well.
The project was rumored to have already started production, but with this latest news, it seems that it's going to take a bit longer than expected for Fantastic Four to get in front of cameras. Josh Trank will be directing this remake, which is bringing the Marvel comics family back to the big screen for the first time since 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, which was less than well received by fans and critics alike.
Created in 1961 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, the group includes the scientist Mr. Fantastic, his wife the Invisible Girl, her brother the Human Torch and the Thing. The story follows their sci-fi adventures with villains such as Green Goblin, Doctor Doom and Galactus.
Simon Kinberg is best known for co-writing X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Days of Future Past. The scribe will also be producing alongside Matthew Vaughn and Cliff Lanning. No casting or production specifics have been released.
