After the first trailer released last month received plenty of positive buzz, fans are starting to come around on the Fantastic Four reboot, which was being written off by many before the footage debuted. While we wait for the next trailer, Empire Magazine has debuted four new photos, featuring Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller) and The Human Torch (Michael B. Jordan), along with our first look at The Invisible Woman (Kate Mara) in costume, and Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm, before he turns into The Thing. These images also give us our first look at Tim Blake Nelson as Harvey Elder, a.k.a. Mole Man.

Fantastic Four, a contemporary re-imagining of Marvel's original and longest-running superhero team, centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.

In addition to the new images, director Josh Trank called his reboot "a dark Amblin movie," while writer-producer Simon Kinberg adds there was, "an Amblin-style approach" to grounding everything in a real world. Here's what Josh Trank had to say about the tone:

"There's the opportunity to make something that is challenging and tragic and dramatic. The opportunity is right there in the material. We'd rather steer it in that direction as opposed to just embracing a tone that comes right off the page."
