Justin Monjo is reportedly working on a screenplay for a Farscape spin-off movie. Based on the Syfy Channel's hit series that ran for 5 seasons, this project is being directed by Jim Henson's son Brian Henson, who co-created the series, and will be produced by Jim Henson Productions.

Justin Monjo was a writer on Farscape, which ran from 1998-2002, followed by a 2004 miniseries that continued the franchise. The movie will pick up where the finale left off, after American astronaut John Crichton (Ben Browder) and peacekeeper Aeryn Sun (Claudia Black) got married and had a baby. Now, the 19 year-old teenager is living and hiding on earth, after his parents discovered that he has special powers, making him the target of villainous alien forces that want to destroy him. He must rejoin his parents on their starship and restore peace to the galaxy.

The Farscape movie does not have a set start date, but writer Justin Monjo says that the film will be shot in Australia in the very near future. It is not known at this time which members of the cast are returning. It is also possible that this will be a straight-to-TV movie for Syfy, and that it might set up a new spin-off series revolving around the son.

Justin Monjo is also currently writing an untitled HBO pilot for Peter Dinklage based on the The Beasts of Valhalla novels by George C. Chesbro, which is being produced by Ben Stiller's Red Hour Films. The one-hour fantasy drama follows a dwarf detective named Mongo.

About the series and Peter Dinklage's involvement, Justin Monjo had this to say,

"It's a grounded sci-fi. HBO and Red Hour think he's the perfect guy for the part and are very excited about the project."

Peter Dinklage has not yet signed on, with the actor just now starting talks with the writer next month in New York. The plan is to have the actor shoot the pilot in 2016, after he finishes work on Game of Thrones.
