Fast & FuriousSome nitrous-powered cars made easy work of all the home video competition this past week. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fast & Furious swept the home video charts in its first week in release.

Fans of the franchise didn't only snatch up this fourth film in the franchise, though, as the rest of the films made strides at the charts as well. The Fast and the Furious, the original 2001 film took the 10th spot on the DVD sales charts while 2 Fast 2 Furious took 14th place and Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift took the 12th spot in DVD sales.

While last week's dominant DVD Watchmen slipped to second place in all three charts, there were a few other notable newcomers that shined on the charts. The straight-to-DVD animated adventure Green Lantern: First Flight made a healthy debut, for the week ending August 2, with a fourth-place finish on the DVD sales charts and a fifth-place turn on the Blu-ray sales charts. Battlestar Galactica: Season 4.5 finished in fifth place on the sales charts while DragonBall: Evolution finished in seventh place and Dollhouse: Season One came in ninth place on the DVD sales charts.
