The Fast & Furious franchise is set to continue with its eighth installment next year; The Fate of the Furious. Universal Pictures unveiled the official title for what everyone previously was calling Fast 8, as well as a little tease for the trailer, which is debuting tonight. Now the studio has released a brand new poster for the movie.

The new poster was posted to the official Fast & Furious Twitter account today and it teases trouble on the horizon for Vin Diesel and his Fast family. The Fate of the Furious poster boasts the slogan "family no more," and any fan of this franchise knows that family is a huge element, so that implies there could be something of a civil war with the Fast & Furious crew this time around. Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson are featured on the poster not looking overly fond of one another, so that could mean we'll be seeing those two square off for the first time since Fast Five. Given the fact that they were reportedly not getting along on set, that would be fitting. Here is the official synopsis for The Fate of the Furious.

"Now that Dom and Letty are on their honeymoon and Brian and Mia have retired from the game-and the rest of the crew has been exonerated-the globetrotting team has found a semblance of a normal life. But when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) seduces Dom into the world of crime he can't seem to escape and a betrayal of those closest to him, they will face trials that will test them as never before. From the shores of Cuba and the streets of New York City to the icy plains off the arctic Barents Sea, our elite force will crisscross the globe to stop an anarchist from unleashing chaos on the world's stage...and to bring home the man who made them a family."

Along with the poster reveal, the Fast & Furious Twitter account also confirmed that the first full trailer for The Fate of the Furious will debut at 5:05 PT during Sunday Night Football on NBC. In addition to the reveal, the cast and crew from the movie will also be taking part in a Facebook live event that will coincide with the debut of the trailer, which is surely going to be action packed. Even the very brief tease that Universal released earlier in the week had a ridiculous amount of action stuffed into the span of about 10 seconds.

Furious 7 set a new high mark for the long-running franchise last year, becoming one of the fastest movies to ever gross $1 billion worldwide and finished with $1.51 billion worldwide, making it one of the highest-grossing movies ever. That is nearly double the second-highest grossing movie in the franchise, which was Fast & Furious 6 with $788 million. There is no reason to think The Fate of the Furious won't also be able to cross the $1 billion mark next year.

The cast for The Fate of the Furious includes returning stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. In addition to winner Charlize Theron, the movie will introduce series newcomers Scott Eastwood and Oscar Oscar winner Helen Mirren. The movie is directed by F. Gary Gray, who most recently directed Straight Outta Compton. Be sure to check out the new poster for yourself below and be on the lookout for The Fate of the Furious trailer tonight.
