Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 is coming to Netflix on September 16, 2022, and the streaming service released a teaser video showing some behind-the-scenes moments. Thanks to a scene from the video, fans of the show are wondering if the couple formed for Riven and Musa, or Rivusa, as the couple is known since they appeared in the cartoons, is coming in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2.

Fate: The Winx Saga is inspired by Winx Club, an animated television show that originally ran from 2004 to 2009. It was revived on Nickelodeon, running from 2011 to 2019, and its story centers around fairies at Alfea, a magical school, where they learn to use their powers.

In season 2, the school’s back in session under the militant authority of Alfea’s former Headmistress Rosalind. With the Burned Ones gone, Dowling “disappeared,” and Silva imprisoned for treason, the Alfea of last year has grown up with new magic, new romances, and new faces. But when fairies start to go missing in the night, Bloom and her Suitemates discover a dangerous threat lurking in the shadows. One they'll have to stop before it wreaks havoc on the entire Otherworld.

In the midst of all of this, judging by the season's reveal video, Riven will be reaching out to the Winx again, which inevitably gives fans hope that Rivusa will be a reality in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2.

The couple conquered the fans in Winx Club, but their relationship was never easy. Due to their emotional problems, Musa and Riven had trouble understanding each other in the animated show. After meeting in The Black Mud Swamp, Musa fell in love with him, drawn to what she saw behind Riven's tough exterior.

Unfortunately, Musa's feelings, at first, were not reciprocated, and they first learned to be friends before being anything else. When they officially became a couple, the difficulties didn’t end and, on more than one occasion, they were about to break up but always ended up getting closer again. Despite this, the end wasn’t a happy one for this couple in Winx Club, since they end up separating at the end of season 6, although feeling that they made the right decision and could always count on each other.

As for Fate: The Winx Saga, the Netflix show is true to Riven's complicated and seemingly cold personality and Musa's kindness and rebelliousness, but season 1 didn't follow the Winx Club scheme regarding Rivusa. Riven and Musa barely had one short mini-scene in the entire season. However, in Fate: The Winx Saga season 1, no character quite fits into what should have happened with Rivusa, except maybe Terra (just a bit), so it doesn't seem like the show intends to replace Rivusa with another couple. Therefore, it doesn’t seem that fans should worry about that possibility.

Despite Rivusa's short screen time in Fate: The Winx Saga season 1, fans really enjoyed the little scene they had together, as it was a small taste of how great the two of them would be together. At the same time, that scene also gave hope to Winx Club fans as it predicted a more than promising future for Rivusa.

In the behind-the-scenes video of Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, attentive fans of the show caught a glimpse of training between Riven and Musa that revived hopes that Rivusa would be a reality in season 2 of the series. It was just a few seconds, but it can be seen that it’s unlikely to be a slight wink or mini-scene as it happened in Fate: The Winx Saga season 1.

What the streaming service showed in the video tease of Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 looks like a long training scene between Riven and Musa, which implies that Musa may be the fairy that Riven teams up with to fight whatever threatens Alfea. Or, at least, their training is proof that Musa and Riven will help each other and will have more than half a second of interaction between them this season.

Regarding the possibility that Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 adapts or changes the Rivusa story, due to the situation in which the show left Riven at the end of Season 1 — collaborating with the enemy —, before Rivusa can even begin to be a possibility or, at least, get closer to each other, Riven must decide where his allegiance truly lies, and then begin collaborating with the Winx to defeat Rosalind and any other threats to Alfea.

That situation would place Rivusa around Winx Club season 2, although in turn, Fate: The Winx Saga season 2 should deal both with Musa's relationship with Sam and with bringing Riven and Musa closer logically that allows their friendship to, later, become something more. On September 16, Fate: The Winx Saga will show all Rivusa fans their fate.

In any case, there is only one certain thing, if Rivusa ends up being a reality in Fate: The Winx Saga season 2, fans will undoubtedly wish that this time, they could be happy together.
