The one big question most fans have going into the hugely anticipated sequel Fifty Shades Darker is: Will we get to see Jamie Dornan in all his full frontal glory? Perhaps, if the official MPAA rating's promise lives up to its full potential. This sequel to 2015's Fifty Shades of Grey didn't land the dreaded NC-17 rating some were (sort of) hoping for. Instead, it will land in theaters with a HARD R rating.

There is no need to worry that Universal Pictures is toning down the the plot of Fifty Shades Darker, a sequel based directly on E.L. James' steamy romance novel of the same name. The movie is rated R for good reason. Here's what the MPAA issued for the upcoming drama that also stars Dakota Johnson, who showed a fair amount of skin in the first movie.

"strong erotic sexual content, some graphic nudity, and language."

What's missing from the MPAA rating for the first movie, Fifty Shades of Grey? Oh, just the mention of 'unusual behavior'. Perhaps S&M has become so commonplace in the States since 2015 that it's no longer considered that unusual. Or this sequel will arrive a fair bit tamer than the first. However you slice it, there is still that promise of finally seeing Jami Dornan's penis. And all jokes aside, that is definitely going to sell some tickets. Don't believe me, just ask your Aunt, Uncle and Grandma.

Fifty Shades Darker will continue the tradition of Valentine's Day weekend as its release date, arriving a few days early on February 10, 2017. It is being called the motion picture event of this lovers' holiday. And it is expected to be one of next year's biggest blockbuster phenomenas. Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and author E L James are returning as producers.

The ensemble cast includes Eric Johnson, Bella Heathcote, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Tyler Hoechlin, Rita Ora, Marcia Gay Harden, Robin Lee, Fay Masterson and Hugh Dancy. James Foley is directing this time out, from a screenplay written by E.L. James' husband, Niall Leonard. Here's the novel's synopsis while we await an official movie synopsis from Universal Pictures

"Daunted by the singular tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship to start a new career with a Seattle publishing house. But desire for Christian still dominates her every waking thought, and when he proposes a new arrangement, Anastasia cannot resist. They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades. While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Anastasia must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life."

Fifty Shades Darker is going to have some competition at the box office this Valentine's Day. Also opening is the hugely anticipated action sequel John Wick Chapter 2, another R rated endeavor that is sure to give Christian and Anastasia a run for their money. The more kid-friendly Lego Batman Movie will also arrive in theaters. But we have a feeling that Fifty Shades Darker might just demolish all its competitors for weeks to come. Here's the exhilarating first trailer in case you missed it when it arrived back in September.
