Film Movement has attained rights to the French thriller Free Men from writer Ismaël Ferroukhi.

Currently playing at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film stars Tahar Rahim and is based on the true story of a Muslim Algerian immigrant living in Vichy, France who was inspired to join the resistance because of a friendship with a Jewish singer.

The deal was inked by Film Movement's Adley Gartenstein and Pyramide's Yoann Ubermulhin to bring the film to North America.

Film Movement will release Free Men film in 2012.
