FilmMates Entertainment, Inc. has acquired worldwide theatrical, television and home video/DVD distribution rights to My Suicidal Sweetheart (www.mysuicidalsweetheart.com), an award-winning dark romantic comedy from director Michael Parness.

The film has won numerous awards, including Best Film, Best Actress and Best Supporting Actor at the Trenton Film Festival; Best Feature Film at the Magnolia Film Festival; Best Film, Best Director and Best Screenplay at the Sacramento Film Festival; Best Actor and Best Score at the California Independent Film Festival; and Grand Jury Prize: Best Picture at the Rhode Island Film Festival.

My Suicidal Sweetheart, from G. Mac Brown, the Executive Producer of You've Got Mail and The Interpreter, features an original soundtrack by Kevin Hearn (Barenaked Ladies) and stars David Krumholtz (Serenity, Ray), Natasha Lyonne (Blade Trinity), Lorraine Bracco (The Sopranos), Tim Blake Nelson (Meet the Fockers), David Paymer (In Good Company), and Rosanna Arquette (Diary of a Sex Addict).

FilmMates Entertainment is planning a limited U.S. and Canada theatrical release for My Suicidal Sweetheart in fall 2006, followed by a home video/DVD release.
