Watch James McAvoy as you've never seen him before in the explicit red band trailer for the upcoming crime drama Filth, director Jon S. Baird's adaptation of Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh's novel. The actor stars as Scottish detective Bruce Robertson, who believes that if he gets a promotion by solving the murder of a fellow cop, his wife will come back to him and all will be right with the world. Of course, his path to redemption isn't that easy for this drug-addled loose cannon, who is seen engaging in all sorts of deplorable acts in this restricted trailer, which also features co-stars Imogen Poots, Jamie Bell and Jim Broadbent.

But is life that simple? Is Bruce the man he really thinks he is? The tragic, hilarious and memorable answers unfold in Filth...
