In a future world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities, Tris Prior is warned she is Divergent and will never fit into any one group. When she discovers a conspiracy to destroy all Divergents, she must find out what makes being Divergent so dangerous before it's too late. Following the trailer preview that debuted yesterday and the footage that aired on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night, Summit Entertainment has released the third and final trailer for Divergent. Check out this last look at director Neil Burger's young adult adaptation before it hits theaters March 21.

Divergent is the first installment in the Divergent trilogy, the top three books on USA Today's best-seller list in 2013. Divergent is directed by Neil Burger from a screenplay by Evan Daugherty and Vanessa Taylor, based on the novel by Veronica Roth. The film stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Ashley Judd, Jai Courtney, Ray Stevenson, Zoë Kravitz, Miles Teller, Tony Goldwyn, Ansel Elgort, Maggie Q, Mekhi Phifer, and Kate Winslet.

Although a director has not been found for Insurgent yet, production company Red Wagon Entertainment announced yesterday that production will begin on the sequel in May.

Divergent director Neil Burger was initially attached to direct the sequel, but Summit Entertainment confirmed in December that he will not be at the helm for this follow-up, since he will still be working on Divergent in post-production while Insurgent starts pre-production.

We also reported last month that Akiva Goldsman will rewrite the Insurgent screenplay adaptation, which was originally written by Brian Duffield (Jane Got a Gun).
