The CBS drama series Fire Country has proven to be a big hit for the network. According to reports by TVLine, "In the latest TV ratings, there was a three-way tie for the Friday demo win, while two CBS dramas veritably tied for the night's largest audience. CBS' SWAT (with 5.4 million total viewers and a 0.4 rating) is again looking at its best audience since May 2019, but it dipped in the demo. Fire Country (5.9 mil/0.5) and Blue Bloods (5.91 mil/0.4, read recap) were steady in the demo, with the already-renewed former eyeing its second-largest audience to date."

The series centers on protagonist Bode Donovan, a prisoner who signs up for a local firefighting program to get his sentence reduced. Bode is inspired to leave his old habits behind and start living a life deserving of praise because of the heroic efforts of the firefighters working nonstop to put out the roaring fires in Northern California. Fire Country star, show co-creator, and former Seal Team actor Max Thieriot plays Bode Donovan, Kevin Alejandro plays Manny Perez, and Jordan Calloway plays Jane Crawford.

The series premiered on Oct. 7, 2022. It was recently renewed for a second season in January 2023. It currently airs on CBS.
