The first trailer for John Wick director David Leitch’s upcoming action thriller, Bullet Train, has, at last, come speeding into view, and introduces us to Brad Pitt and the rest for the cavalcade of master assassins. Despite the title, this first footage from the Sony Pictures project has taken a while to get here, but it was certainly worth the wait, as five assassins come face-to-face aboard the titular bullet train. Getting back on the job is never as easy as you think... especially with the world's deadliest assassins on board.

Bullet Train is based on the popular manga "Maria Beetle" by Kotaro Isaka, and follows five assassins who find themselves on a Japanese bullet train. They slowly come to realize that their individual assignments are all interconnected. This realization comes amid a hail of bullets and other assorted action set pieces, which are surely guaranteed to light up the silver screen like never before. From the director of Deadpool 2, David Leitch, Bullet Train has been described as a fun, delirious action-thriller as Brad Pitt headlines an ensemble cast of eclectic, diverse assassins – all with connected yet conflicting objectives – set against the backdrop of a non-stop ride through modern-day Japan.

The action outing has amassed the kind of cast that only comes together once in a while, with Brad Pitt, whose character is named Ladybug, leading an ensemble that includes the likes of Joey King (The Kissing Booth) as Prince, Aaron Taylor-Johnson (The King's Man, Tenet) as Tangerine, Brian Tyree Henry (Eternals) as Lemon, and Zazie Beetz (Joker) as Hornet, as well as Andrew Koji (Warrior), Masi Oka (Heroes), Michael Shannon (Knives Out), Logan Lerman (Hunters), Lady Gaga (A Star is Born), and Sandra Bullock (The Lost City of D) as Maria Beetle.

Additionally, Hiroyuki Sanada, Karen Fukuhara, Bad Bunny, Pasha D. Lychnikoff, Miraj Grbić round out the rest of the supporting cast.

With the director of the Keanu Reeves-led John Wick at the helm, Bullet Train has already garnered much attention for the impressive stunt work on display, with Hollywood A-lister Brad Pitt reportedly performing 95% of his own stunts. According to Bullet Train stunt coordinator, Greg Rementer, the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star and cinematic icon took to the stunt work similarly to how Keanu Reeves did for the John Wick series. "Brad did 95 percent of his physical stunts - the fighting," Rementer said of the 58-year-old Oscar winner's efforts. "He's like a natural-born athlete. He really got in there!"

But it wasn’t just Brad Pitt who took to the stunts so eagerly, with Rementer revealing that the rest of the cast were just as passionate about bringing the action of Bullet Train to life in the best way possible. "Never have I ever done so many huge actors in one feature where all of them excelled at the physical movement of our training,” he said of the movie’s large ensemble cast. “So Brad, Brian, Michael Shannon, Hiroyuki Sonada, Andrew Koji-who was already a stud in terms of where he comes from with the show Warrior-all these actors put out some great action and did a lot of their [own] stuff."

Bullet Train is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 15, 2022, by Sony Pictures Releasing, delayed from an initial release of April 8.
