Guardians of the Galaxy is rapidly racing its way towards theaters, with just 15 days left until this Marvel Phase two action-adventure hits theaters nationwide. To help ease the pain of this excruciating waiting process, Marvel Studios has released the first clip, featuring Star-Lord's (Chris Pratt) introduction to Korath the Pursuer (Djimon Hounsou), while coming across a mysterious orb.

Of course, this is the object that sets Peter Quill/Star-Lord on a quest to stop the nefarious Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) from destroying the universe, but this scene takes place before he meets his fellow Guardians, Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel). Watch as Korath makes the mistake of underestimating the wily Star-Lord in this debut scene from director James Gunn's cosmic adventure, in theaters August 1.

After stealing a mysterious orb in the far reaches of outer space, Peter Quill, a half human/half alien is now the main target of a manhunt lead by the villain known as Ronan the Accuser. To help fight Ronan and his team and save the galaxy from his power, Quill creates a team known as the Guardians of the Galaxy to save the world.
