AMC has released a trailer teasing their upcoming slate of high-profile projects, with the new promo revealing our first look at the forthcoming Interview With the Vampire television series. Released by AMC+, the montage of footage is joined by the caption “Iconic characters. Epic new worlds. Legendary series,” and offers the first footage of Jacob Anderson and Sam Reid as vampires Louis and Lestat.

“I give death...to those deserving,” Lestat says to a terrified-looking Louis in the clip, teasing the character’s antihero nature. Based on Anne Rice’s 1976 novel of the same name, Interview With the Vampire will follow journalist Daniel Malloy, whose career has suffered many ups and downs, and is given a second chance to interview a vampire named Louis de Pointe du Lac.

Much like the 1994 movie starring Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt before it, Interview With the Vampire is expected to be framed by a present-day interview, flashing back to when Louis de Pointe du Lac was first transformed into a creature of the night by the sadistic Lestat de Lioncourt. Starring Game of Thrones star Jacob Anderson and Belle star Sam Reid, rumors have circulated claiming that AMC’s new take on the story will undergo some significant changes in its approach but is likely to maintain the most iconic and memorable elements.

Interview with the Vampire will reportedly consist of 8-episodes and is being executive produced by Jessica Held and Mark Johnson, with Rolin Jones attached to write and executive produce the series. Production on Interview With the Vampire took place across various locations, including New Orleans, Paris, and Eastern Europe. Interview with the Vampire is due to debut on AMC and AMC+ sometime in 2022.

Interview With the Vampire is just one of several major projects due to release on AMC and AMC+ later this year. Alongside the first footage from the highly anticipated vampire adaptation, the ad also teases the sixth and final season of beloved Breaking Bad spinoff Better Call Saul, more of the 11th and last season of The Walking Dead, upcoming anthology series spinoff Tales of the Walking Dead, the second season of crime thriller series Gangs of London, and the fourth and final season of Killing Eve.

Not only will AMC be bringing more of the shows that audiences already love, but they will also be introducing a host of new television shows, each of which could be the next “must see” series. These include 61st Street, which follows Moses Johnson, a promising, black high school athlete, who is swept up into the infamously corrupt Chicago criminal justice system; Dark Winds, which follows two Navajo police officers, Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, in the 1970s Southwest; That Dirty Black Bag, a raw, epic and romantic spaghetti western series about the dark side of the Far West starring Dominic Cooper; and Moonhaven, starring Emma McDonald and Joe Manganiello which follows a smuggler 100 years in the future who finds herself accused of a crime and marooned on Moonhaven, a utopian community.
