Variety reports that First Run Features has snapped up the rights to The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel and the Pentagon Papers.

First Run will release the documentary in February.

The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel and the Pentagon Papers was directed by Judith Ehrlich and Rick Goldsmith. Currently, it is one of the 15 films that is in contention for the documentary Oscar. This Thursday it won the Freedom of Expression Award from the National Board of Review.

The film centers on Daniel Ellsberg. He was a high-level Pentagon official and Vietnam War strategist, he deduced that the war was actually based on lies and then leaked 7,000 pages of top secret documents to The New York Times.
