Mindy Kaling (The Office) has joined the growing cast of the Universal Pictures comedy Five-Year Engagement for director Nick Stoller.

The story centers on Jason Segel and Emily Blunt's characters, chronicling the highs and lows of their long-term relationship. Mindy Kaling will play one of the graduate school students taught by Rhys Ifans's character.

Nick Stoller will direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with star Jason Segel, which is the same arrangement they had on the 2008 comedy Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Judd Apatow will produce Five-Year Engagement alongside Rodney Rothman.

No production schedule was given for Five-Year Engagement at this time.
