Last week, The CW released a trailer for the upcoming Season 2 episode of The Flash entitled The Fury of Firestorm, which reveals that Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) will get a new Firestorm partner. Jefferson "Jax" Jackson (Franz Drameh), one of the characters from the midseason spinoff DC's Legends of Tomorrow, will be stepping in for Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell). Now, a new clip from tonight's episode teases yet another DC Comics character may be introduced. Is King Shark coming to Central City? While the character has never been confirmed, this scene offers a number of hints that King Shark may be swimming ashore soon.

The clip features Detective Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten), who wants Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) help with a new case she's working on. She hands him a set of 'shark teeth', telling him there is an eyewitness who saw a 'shark walking on land, a man-shark'. With the introduction of meta-humans, this kind of transformation is certainly possible. But is it really the DC Comics villain King Shark? We'll have to wait and see if tonight's episode reveals any more clues pertaining to King Shark's arrival.

The clip also showcases the burgeoning chemistry between Patty Spivot and Barry Allen, although she still doesn't know that Barry actually is The Flash. It remains to be seen whether this relationship will be taken to the next level or not, or if she will ever discover Barry's superhero identity. Patty is part of Joe West's (Jesse L. Martin) meta-human task force, and it's clear she has become quite obsessed and fascinated by those with super powers.

King Shark, a.k.a. Nanaue, made his DC Comics debut in a 1994 issue of Superboy. Born in Hawaii, Nanaue's father was known as "The King of All Sharks" and the Shark God, with some believing his powers are mystical in nature, while others dismiss it as some sort of mutation. In the comics, this villain clashed with heroes such as Aquaman and Jimmy Olsen, and he was even part of the Suicide Squad as well. There have been rumors that Ray Olubowale is actually playing King Shark in the Suicide Squad movie, but that has never been confirmed.

If King Shark is introduced in The Flash, he will join new characters this season such as Teddy Sears' Jay Garrick, Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Michael Ironside playing Lewis Snart, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick, Demore Barnes as Henry Hewitt and Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland, a.k.a former WWE Superstar Edge). Other characters returning from last season include Gorilla Grodd, Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and his sister, the Golden Glider (Peyton List). Take a look at this new clip, and let us know if you think King Shark will be popping up on The Flash this season.
