Last week, The CW Network released a trailer for Season 2 of The Flash, which teased that DC's Legends of Tomorrow star Franz Drameh (Jay Jackson) will eventually become the new Firestorm. While it isn't known when this transition will actually happen, the network has released another trailer which shows the return of current Firestorm, played by Robbie Amell. It's worth noting that the other half of Firestorm, Victor Garber's Dr. Martin Stein, will also be one of the series regulars on DC's Legends of Tomorrow.

Last week's trailer revealed a brief glimpse of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) alongside DC's Legends of Tomorrow character Jay Jackson (Franz Drameh), who is seen wearing a modified version of the Nuclear Man suit worn by Robbie Amell last season. It isn't known when Franz Drameh will appear on The Flash, but it seems his appearance will help set up the new Firestorm that will be showcased in DC's Legends of Tomorrow. The move makes sense, since Robbie Amell was never confirmed as part of the DC's Legends of Tomorrow cast. But it remains to be seen how he will now be used in The Flash. In the comics, there have been other characters who have taken over the Firestorm Matrix, such as Mikhail Arkadin and Jason Rusch.

While it hasn't been previously announced that Franz Drameh's Jay Jackson will appear on The Flash, it has been confirmed that characters such as White Canary (Caity Lotz) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) will be introduced in both Arrow and The Flash before DC's Legends of Tomorrow. It seems possible that fans will get a glimpse of every DC's Legends of Tomorrow character on both of the hit shows before this midseason series kicks off, especially since the network used the same tactic to introduce Barry Allen before The Flash.

Tony Todd has joined the cast this season as the voice of main villain Zoom. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed they wanted to do something different this season, when it came to the main villain. Last season, the producers modulated Tom Cavanagh's voice when he was in costume as Reverse Flash, to hide his identity from Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and the rest of Team Flash. This season, while Tony Todd will provide the voice for Zoom, fans will be left to guess who is actually inside the Zoom suit.

Other new characters arriving in Central City this season are Keiynan Lonsdale as Wally West, Michael Ironside playing Lewis Snart, Shantel VanSanten as Patty Spivot, Violett Beane as Jesse Quick, Demore Barnes as Henry Hewitt and Atom Smasher (Adam Copeland, a.k.a former WWE Superstar Edge). The show will also feature two characters from the midseason series DC's Legends of Tomorrow, Falk Hentschel's Hawkman and Casper Crump's Vandall Savage. Take a look at the latest trailer before the Season 2 premiere episode, titled The Man Who Saved Central City, debuts Tuesday, October 6 at 8 PM ET on The CW.
