Walden Media has picked up the rights to Jeff Brown's popular book series Flat Stanley, which revolves around Stanley Lambchop, a two dimensional man stuck in a 3D world.

The proposed film based on the Flat Stanley books of the 1960s will be shot in live action, using visual effects to turn the lead actor into a flat, one-dimensional character.

As the story goes, Stanley was flattened by a billboard that used to hang above his bed, after it fell on him late one night. Mr. Lambchop can slip under doors, be flown as a kite, and once foiled an art heist by posing as a painting.

John B. Carls, who produced Where the Wild Things Are and Rango, is also serving as a producer here.

Walden Media is currently seeking a director.
