According to Variety, John Nance's novel Orbit has landed at Fox 2000.

The book, which is due for publication in 2006, was brought to the studio by producer Jennifer Klein, of Apartment 3B Prods., and scribe Sheldon Turner, who will adapt it for the bigscreen.

The story centers on a civilian who wins the chance to join a space shuttle flight, only to find himself alone and adrift in space when the rest of the crew dies.

Orbit is not the first time Klein and Turner have collaborated on a project. They also are teaming on Two Minutes to Midnight, which is set up at Fox, and Scrawl, which originally sold to MGM.
