According to Variety, Fox has given the final go-ahead to Jerry Bruckheimer's American Crime, while ABC has given the go-ahead to its sister-themed laffer from former "Friends" showrunner Shana Goldberg-Meehan.

The story comes from Bruckheimer TV and revolves around high-powered Los Angeles lawyers.

The script, from Tyler Bensigner ("Cold Case"), centers on a team of media-savvy defense attorneys who handle high-profile cases. Bensigner will exec produce with David McNally (who's aboard to direct), as well as Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman.
