According to The Hollywood Reporter, Walden Media is going to bring U.K. author Frank Cottrell Boyce's book Cosmic to the big screen.

Boyce, who is also a screenwriter, is going to adapt his own novel. It centers on a boy who, after experiencing an early growth spurt, gets mistaken for an adult. One day he pretends to be his best friend's father in order to get a seat on an experimental spaceship ride. The journey goes badly and he needs to save the crew.

The book was originally released through Walden Pond Press.

"The hero of Cosmic is a boy who goes further away from Earth than any human being has ever been, but his big discoveries are all about family and home," Boyce stated.
