Frankie Muniz, who is perhaps most well-known for his roles in Malcolm in the Middle and Secret Agent: Cody Banks when he was a teenager, has since taken up stock car racing full-time. That doesn't mean he won't appear on screen, though. As per The Hollywood Reporter, it's been announced that Muniz will star in a documentary series via NEO Studios. The docuseries, with the working title of Frankie in the Fastlane, will chronicle his career as a racecar driver, along with his family life as a father and husband. The executive producer of Frankie in the Fastlane, Mike Basone, calls Muniz's efforts a "human triumph" that they're looking forward to show to the world:

“Frankie put everything on the line to pursue his passion and become a professional racer. That alone is inspiring, but he also had to overcome countless obstacles – including injuries, media scrutiny and more – to get where he is today. NEO is drawn to telling unique sports-centric stories that showcase human triumph and we’re truly honored to follow Frankie on this quest.”

Frankie Muniz began professionally racing in 2004 and balanced that between acting, music, and various business ventures before becoming a full-time racer this year. While Frankie Muniz fondly looks back on his acting career, he says that racing is the thing he's made for:

“I’m proud of my past accomplishments and for being remembered as Malcolm, for example. It’s a great feeling to have made an impact on people in that way, but when I’m in that seat, in the car and on the track, I know in my soul that racing as a professional driver is what I was made to do. I’m excited to partner with a company like NEO Studios that really understands sports and competition programming, and to bring viewers along on this crazy journey and share my love of racing with the world.”

He hasn't officially retired from acting, but he isn't planning on working on any other screen productions anytime soon. His most recent appearances have been on the TV shows The Rookie and New Amsterdam, albeit only for a single episode. His most recent film was The Black String in 2018, which is a psychological thriller that blurs the line between hallucinations and reality. The film earned positive reviews, with particular praise aimed at Muniz's performance.

Frankie in the Fastlane does not yet have a release date, and has yet to get picked up by a streaming service or network. Produced by NEO Studios, the documentary series will star Frankie Muniz.
