It seems that a gestating cult comic-book film project is finally getting off the ground. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fredrik Bond has signed on to direct Hack/Slash.

The film is based off the comic book created by Tim Seeley and Stefano Casselli, which revolves around Cassie Hack, who symbolizes the one woman that survives at the end of most horror films, but has become much more than that. Not only has Hack survived, but she has transformed into a killer herself, travelling the back roads and killing youngsters in small towns all across the country.

The script was written by Justin Marks and the film, now with a director firmly in place after many had come and gone, is eyeing a winter start date for production.
