The Free Guy trailer officially drops tomorrow (December 7th). In order to promote the debut and the upcoming movie, the cast appears with Ryan Reynolds for a special teaser. However, things get pretty weird as Reynolds turns the opportunity into an infomercial to sell products stright off his back. Some footage from the highly anticipated project was first shown at New York Comic-Con back in October. And lucky audience members were left wanting more. Sadly, the aforementioned footage did not find its way online.

Free Guy cast members Lil Rel Howery, Jodie Comer, and Joe Keery are featured in the new teaser video, which appears to be a normal interview promoting the movie. Ryan Reynolds decides to take this opportunity to start selling merchandise for the movie, including his Guy shirt, nametag and tie. His reasoning behind the idea is based on the fact that Disney now owns Fox, which means they all need to step up their merchandising game. While the rest of the cast appears confused, Reynolds sticks to the premise. As an added bonus, there's a phone number in the teaser. If you call said number, you'll hear previously recorded messages from Reynolds.

Free Guy follows Guy (Ryan Reynolds), a bank teller who learns he's an NPC (non-playable character) in a violent open-world video game who finds himself caught up in a bigger story. In addition to Ryan Reynolds, Lil Rel Howery, Jodie Comer, and Joe Keery, the movie also stars Taika Waititi, Channing Tatum, and Utkarsh Ambudkar. The trailer is being released in honor of Brazil's CCXP, which is currently underway. Reynolds enjoys looking for unique and humorous ways to promote his projects and this is no exception.

The CCXP panel for Free Guy takes place at 2 PM Eastern on Saturday, December 7th. The Free Guy trailer should arrive at some point after that, so make sure to keep your eyes peeled. The movie's director Shawn Levy has said that he and Ryan Reynolds wanted to craft a story that is "a superhero origin story without the cape and tights and the IP." Levy went on to say, "If you were living in a video game and could master the system, your powers would be limitless." Guy may have some pretty significant powers in the movie.

Ryan Reynolds recently said that the idea of Free Guy is something that "spoke to the moment in some way." He went on to say the movie fits into current events where it seems like everybody is a background character. Shawn Levy than said, "(it's) the journey of the innocent in a deeply cynical world." It's an original idea, which is a pretty big box office gamble these days in the world of reboots, remakes, and endless sequels. Whatever the case may be, the buzz surrounding Free Guy is pretty strong. You can check out the trailer teaser above, thanks to Ryan Reynolds' YouTube channel.
