The last we heard about a sequel to last year's Platinum Dunes remake Friday the 13th was back in December when producer Brad Fuller revealed they were hoping to get started on the film this year. Bloody-Disgusting noticed a recent tweet from Fuller's Twitter account where he said that Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3D was "dead - not happening."

The site contacted Fuller to clarify the tweet and he responded by saying, "Right now there is no movement on Friday the 13th Part 2." It was believed that New Line Cinema was readying the film for an August 13, 2010 release date, with a script from Friday the 13th writers Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. It was also believed that the film was going to be shot in 3D.

We'll be sure to keep you posted on any further developments on the status of Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3D as soon as we have more information.
