Paramount Pictures has announced that they will be releasing a brand new Friday the 13th film on March 13, 2015. This will be the thirteenth installment of the long-running horror series. Exhibitor Relations confirmed the news by sharing the information on their Twitter account yesterday.

Here is what they said.

The original hit theaters back in 1980 and was directed by Sean S. Cunningham. Written by Victor Miller, the American slasher film followed a group of teenagers that are murdered one by one while attempting to re-open an abandoned campground. It starred Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby, Laurie Bartram, Kevin Bacon, Jeannine Taylor, Mark Nelson and Robbi Morgan.

No director or cast has been announced and no official title has been given to the project. It will not be a sequel to 2009's Friday the 13th remake.
