Be it on TV or on the big screen, there is a lot of reboots, revivals and retooling of old properties that people feel nostalgic about. Earlier this year, Netflix was able to capitalize on some of that 90s nostalgia in a massive way with their Full House revival series, Fuller House. The show was a massive hit for the streaming service so naturally, a second season is happening, and we just learned some pretty big details about the upcoming new episodes.

A report from TVLine confirms some plot details for Season 2, which is currently in production and should come out at some point next year. As it turns out, Joey is finally going to be getting a wife and even some kids in season 2 of Fuller House. Or, rather, we will finally be meeting his wife and kids tat are often spoken about but up until this point have never been seen. Joey's wife Ginger is going to be introduced in season 2 and apparently, they have four kids together as well. Here is how Joey's wife is described.

"The Netflix comedy is set to introduce Joey's wife Ginger, an 'enthusiastic, upbeat, fun-loving magician.' We'll meet her in the season's sixth episode, during which the Gladstones crash the Fuller/Tanner/Gibblers' Thanksgiving festivities. Like her impression-happy hubby, Ginger is said to be 'a little clueless in the parenting department.'"

Joey, who is of course played by Dave Coulier, was a main cast member in the original and appeared in the first season of Fuller House. That may lead some to wonder why we didn't get to see Ginger or any of their kids in the first season of the show. We got to see Mr. Woodchuck, why wouldn't we get to see his wife? Well, Executive Producer Bob Boyett had a fairly reasonable explanation for that.

"It just didn't fit anywhere in the stories we developed. We had Joey - in the stories we were using him - come in for specific reasons. We just haven't gotten to everything yet, and we don't get to everything, even in the 13 episodes."

We learned in season one of Fuller House that Joey's life is going pretty well. He is now a comedian with a residency in Las Vegas, which is where he lives full-time, when he isn't dropping in on the Tanner family. According to series creator Jeff Franklin, there was originally a scene in season one that featured Joey back in Vegas with Ginger and their kids, but it ultimately didn't make it into the final script. We don't know exactly how big Joey or Ginger's role will be in season 2 of Fuller House, but it sounds like they will at least play a fairly big part in one episode of the season.

The original Full House ran for 8 seasons on ABC and was an absolutely monster hit for the network. Netflix debuted Fuller House in February of this year and it drew in a massive audience. According to Symphony, a company that tried to estimate Netflix's streaming numbers, was a bigger hit than Daredevil, House of Cards and even AMC's The Walking Dead. Fuller House season 2 is set to debut on Netflix next year with most of the cast expected to return.
