While promoting his upcoming action-thriller San Andreas, actor Dwayne Johnson confirmed that he will be coming back as Hobbs in Fast & Furious 8. The upcoming sequel will mark his fourth appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise, after starring in Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6 and this year's Furious 7. Here's what the actor had to say, when asked about returning for Fast & Furious 8.

"Of course. It can't go on without Hobbs."

There has also been talk of a spinoff movie centering solely on the actor's Hobbs character, although it isn't known if the project is officially in development yet, since no screenwriter or director is attached at this time. The actor did confirm that there have been preliminary talks about a Hobbs movie at Universal Pictures, but it isn't known when it may move forward.

"We all are interested in it. I just had a big conversation with the studio. So we'll see. I still think for me personally we've created a little bit of space for him in 7 and the gauge is set for what the audience will want. That's my take on it, you know, but a lot of other people have to have input."
