Ever wonder what a Futurama live-action movie or TV show might look like? While Matt Groening and his team at Fox have never given fans that much wanted entry in the franchise, today we have a video that imagines what it might look like. And it's delicious! Cinema Relics is behind this hilarious ode to the sci-fi comedy. Here's what they have to say for themselves.

"Fan-O-Rama: A Futurama Fan Film is an UNOFFICIAL live action version of Futurama. Many thanks to Matt Groening and 20TH CENTURY FOX for creating such an awesome show for us to be SO inspired by."

Like many Fox animated shows, Futurama has had a tumultuous life as an animated sitcom. It has been canceled only to be revived by its dedicated fanbase. It has lived on both Fox and Comedy Central, giving us 7 wonderful seasons. And we've even got a full-length TV movie or two featuring these popular characters.

Futurama follows pizza boy Fry, who was cryogenically frozen only to wake up in the 31 Century. While it comes from the creator of The Simpsons, it didn't have the same kind of cultural impact, and didn't stick around as long as that Fox evergreen comedy. The trailer for the live-action Futurama episode arrived in July of this past year. Now, here's the real thing for all to enjoy thanks to CinemaRelics.

Fan-O-Rama: A Futurama Fan Film is directed by Dan Lanigan. He wrote the episode script alongside Andy Klimczak and Kody Frederick. Frederick takes on the role of Fry and the Professor, with Katie Lanigan starring as Leela and Brock Baker voicing Bender, Zoidberg, and Professor.

The episode opens in typical Futurama fashion with Fry and Bender enjoying a cold one while lazing in front of the TV. Running dry on alcohol, they think all of life's questions have been answered with a contest that offers a lifetime supply of beer. All they need to do is write a fun jingle for the brew company.

This live-action episode is being praised by fans. And it makes one wonder if Fox will sit up and take notice. Could a real-life live-action Futurama movie be planned for the future? It's something fans are often clamoring for, which is never more apparent than when the various voice cast members of the original show appear at Comic-Con or other fan conventions. This video will surely help the conversation get started. And let's all remember that we got Deadpool because of leaked live-action footage.

It's unlikely that we've seen the last of Futurama. But who knows when and where it will go next. It could easily get a revival on a streaming service like Netflix in the next couple of years. Or we could see more of the full-length telemovies that have been done in the past. While we wait for the other shoe to drop, enjoy this inspired live-action fan film, which gives us everything we could have wanted in the real thing. Perhaps Cinema Relics is planning more of these live-action episodes for the future?
