Red Notice star Gal Gadot is looking ready for action once again for Netflix’s upcoming action thriller Heart of Stone. The actress has taken to Twitter to reveal the first look at her character, Rachel Stone, as well as confirm that filming on the project has now begun.

“Rachel Stone. Nice to meet you,” Gal Gadot said in a caption alongside the behind-the-scenes image, which shows the Wonder Woman star with her arms crossed and with a suitably stern look on her face. Heart of Stone, the Skydance spy thriller led by Gal Gadot, was officially moved to a Netflix release in January last year. Plot details for Heart of Stone are unknown at this time, but it is expected that the movie will put a female-centric spin on the spy genre, crafting a new franchise akin to the likes of James Bond and Mission: Impossible with Gadot at its center.

Heart of Stone is being directed by Tom Harper, who recently helmed the adventure movie The Aeronauts starring Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones. Harper is also known for the likes of The Woman in Black 2: Angel of Death, and the musical comedy-drama Wild Rose. Hopper has also been behind several episodes of such critically-acclaimed small screen ventures as Misfits, This Is England '86, War & Peace and the popular period crime drama show Peaky Blinders. Heart of Stone will also feature Jamie Dornan alongside Gadot.

The script for Heart of Stone has been penned by comic book writer Greg Rucka, who is best known for his work on the likes of Action Comics, Stumptown, Batwoman, Black Magick, Detective Comics, Lazarus, and, rather fittingly, Wonder Woman. Rucka is also the creator behind the graphic novel The Old Guard, a story that was adapted by Rucka himself for Netflix, and proved to be a huge hit for the streaming service. Allison Schroeder, who was nominated for an Oscar for her work on the Hidden Figures script will also be writing the movie alongside Rucka.

As well as leaping into action hero mode and leading Heart of Stone, Gal Gadot will also return alongside Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ryan Reynolds in Netflix’s upcoming sequels, Red Notice 2 and Red Notice 3.

The first Red Notice landed on Netflix back in November 2021, and follows The Rock as an FBI agent who reluctantly teams up with a renowned art thief, played by Ryan Reynolds, in order to catch an even more notorious criminal, played by Gal Gadot. While the movie was met with mixed reviews, Red Notice became the most-watched movie in its debut weekend on Netflix, as well as the most-watched movie within 28 days of release on the platform, and the 5th most-streamed movie title of 2021.

Red Notice 2 and Red Notice 3 are scheduled to be filmed back-to-back for Netflix. Heart of Stone does not yet have a release date, but with filming having now begun, we can expect further updates soon.
