Last week a rumor began circulating that Wonder Woman’s Gal Gadot would be making an unexpected appearance in The Flash movie, and the actress may have just confirmed the cameo appearance with a New Year social media post. Gadot decided to celebrate the dawning of 2022 by sharing a series of images from every month of 2021, and as part of that montage were included images from July and August that suggest the star was working on the set of the upcoming DC Multiverse movie while filming on The Flash was ongoing.

Among the photos, which can be seen on Gadot’s official Instagram account, a photo from July shows Gadot in a make-up chair, and those with eagle-eyes managed to note that in the background is a man wearing a lanyard that appears to be from The Flash. As if that wasn’t enough, in the actress’ August image she is seen in her Wonder Woman tiara and hairpiece, which seems very coincidental when The Flash was filming between April and October and rumors of Gadot’s cameo first resurfaced around that time.

Of course, we already know that Ben Affleck will be reprising his role as Batman for one final time in The Flash, while Supergirl also appears along with Michael Keaton’s Batman who will be returning to the role after 30 years and seemingly will continue into the Batgirl movie. Gadot was originally rumored to have a role in The Flash movie back around the time of the movie's initial development in 2017, but there was never a confirmation for that. In June last year, a promo video for the movie included a shot that appeared to show Wonder Woman standing alongside Batman, Supergirl and The Flash, and was subsequently deleted. When added to Gadot’s own memories of the year, it seems like a pretty certain bet that we will be seeing Wonder Woman making an appearance when The Flash arrives at the end of the year.

While specific plot details on the movie are few and far between, as is the usual run of things when it comes to superhero movies these days, there have been plenty of clips and teasers to give an irrefutable hint that the film will have multiverse and alternate reality links. With the trailer seeming to suggest that at least one Batman will die, other versions of The Flash will be present and there will be many surprises for fans, director Andy Muschietti has already hinted at The Flash being the beginning of something big for the DCEU.

"This movie is a bit of a hinge in the sense that it presents a story that implies a unified universe where all the cinematic iterations that we've seen before are valid," Muschietti said in previous interviews. "It's inclusive in the sense that it is saying all that you've seen exists, and everything that you will see exists, in the same unified multiverse."

This may sound very similar to the current multiverse expansion being seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but while Marvel is pushing things further out into the unknown, the question stands over what DC is planning to do with their trip into the multiverse.
