Gale Anne Hurd, executive producer of AMC's hit zombie series The Walking Dead, is setting up a new hour long sci-fi drama based on Annie Jacobsen's book Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base.

Karl Gajdusek, who wrote the Nicolas Cage thriller Trespass and a number of Dead Like Me episodes, is penning the pilot, which will be shopped to various networks in the coming weeks.

The show will revolve around two men working at Area 51, who uncover a vast government secret that could jeopardize both their lives. Much of the ongoing storyline will be pulled from Area 51: An Uncensored History of America's Top Secret Military Base, which sheds like on the controversy and the conspiracies surrounding this highly fortified government base.
