Yesterday, we reported that HBO is debuting a new half-hour special entitled A Day in the Life to get fans ready for Season 5 of Game of Thrones. This behind-the-scenes documentary will air in February, just a few months before the Game of Thrones season premiere debuts on Sunday, April 12. Today, HBO has released a brief preview for the special, showcasing the epic scope of this immense series, one of the only shows to shoot multiple units in different countries at the same time. We get brief glimpses at series stars Lena Headey (Cersei Lanister) and Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) in this new footage, along with some of the hundreds of extras that bring these intense battle scenes to life.
The special, airing at 7:30 PM ET on February 8, highlights the epic sets, renowned cast and global scale of Thrones, as well as the more intimate and individual challenges of our subjects, giving the audience a new perspective on one of the most elaborate productions in television history. While it hasn't been confirmed, it's possible that HBO may also air the new Season 5 trailer during this special, which will be shown to fans who attend the special IMAX screenings of the last two Season 4 episodes starting January 29.
Take a look at this brief teaser before A Day in the Life debuts in just a few short weeks. Stay tuned for more updates on Season 5 of Game of Thrones as we inch closer and closer to the April 12 premiere on HBO.
