Game of Thrones will make history starting today, as it becomes the first TV series ever to be presented on the big screen in the immersive IMAX format, for one week of screenings from January 29 through February 5. Along with the final two episodes of Season 4, "The Watchers on the Wall" and "The Children", fans will also get to see the first trailer for Season 5 on the big screen in over 200 theaters nationwide in cities such as Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Miami, Montreal, New York, San Antonio, Seattle, Toronto and Washington, D.C. In case you don't want to head to the theaters this weekend, we have the trailer right here!

We've already seen a number of tiny teasers released through the viral site ThreeEyedRaven.com, but now we have the first true footage that all Thrones fans have been waiting for ever since the Season 4 finale aired last year. If that wasn't enough, HBO is also airing a new half-hour special Game of Thrones: A Day in the Life on Sunday, February 8 at 7:30 PM. The special takes goes behind-the-scenes during one day of production on three different sets in Belfast, Northern Ireland; Dubrovnik, Croatia; Sevilla and Osuna, Spain. Still, even with the trailer and this special, we still have a few months left until Season 5 debuts Sunday, April 12 at 9 PM ET on HBO.

The trailer features more of Tyrion Lanister's (Peter Dinklage) bearded look, and it's clear that his sister Cersei (Lena Headey) is not pleased with her brother, after he killed their father last season. We also see that Sansa (Sophie Turner) is continuing her journeys with Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen), who wants Sansa to avenge the deaths of her family members. We also get brief glimpses of Daenerys (Emilia Clarke), Varys (Conleth Hill), one of the Sand Snakes, Nymeria Sand (Jessica Henwick) and a number of other characters in this action-packed trailer. What do you think about the new footage? Are you look forward to seeing more from Season 5 before Game of Thrones returns? Chime in with your thoughts below, and stay tuned for more trailers.
