The massive statue in Meereen comes crumbling down as both Tyrion and Arya start their new lives across the Narrow Sea in three new trailers for Season 5 of Game of Thrones, debuting Sunday, April 12 at 9 PM ET with "The Wars to Come". As you may recall, the Game of Thrones Season 4 finale showed both Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) and Arya (Maisie Williams) leaving Westeros, but whether they will find solace across the Narrow Sea remains to be uncertain. While these trailers do not divulge too much information about this season's plot, we do get plenty of action.
In the new season, Jon Snow is struggling to balance the demands of the Night's Watch with those of the newly arrived Stannis Baratheon, who styles himself the rightful king of Westeros. Meanwhile, Cersei scrambles to hold on to power in King's Landing amidst the Tyrells and the rise of a religious group led by the enigmatic High Sparrow, while Jaime embarks on a secret mission. Across the Narrow Sea, Arya seeks an old friend and a fugitive Tyrion finds a new cause. And as danger mounts in Meereen, Daenerys finds that her tenuous hold on the city requires hard sacrifices.
New cast members this season include Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell, Toby Sebastian as Trystane Martell, Nell Tiger Free as Myrcella Baratheon, Deobia Oparei as Areo Hotah, Enzo Cilenti as Yezzan, Jessica Henwick as Nymeria ("Nym") Sand, Rosabell Laurenti Sellers as Tyene Sand, Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand and Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow. This season is also said to feature a number of deaths that fans of the George R.R. Martin books won't see coming. Who do you think will meet their maker this year? Take a look at the trailers, and chime in with your thoughts below.
