In just five short days, Game of Thrones will finally return with the Season 6 premiere, The Red Woman, airing Sunday, April 24 at 9 PM ET on HBO. It's been a grueling wait for most fans since the show has caught up with author George R.R. Martin's novels. The show's producers have kept fans in the dark about new story lines and characters that will be featured this season. To get everyone ready for this long-awaited premiere, the Game of Thrones YouTube page has unveiled the final trailer leading into the premiere, and it features new footage that fans will surely be dissecting over the next few days.

The sneak peek opens with an unseen character closing the eyes of Jon Snow's corpse, as he lay dead on a table, presumable somewhere in Castle Black. The fate of Jon Snow has dominated the online conversations swirling around the show ever since the Season 5 finale, with rumors and theories sprouting up left and right as to how he may be resurrected. The show's producers and cast members have long maintained that Jon Snow is in fact dead, but for those still holding out hope, it's worth noting that the footage released thus far hasn't shown his corpse being buried, yet.

We also see scenes with Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) and Lord Varys (Conleth Hill) in Meereen, as we hear Tyrion state that there is always someone who wants to murder him, wherever he goes. You will recall that, at the end of Season 5, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) fled from an assassination attempt orchestrated by the Sons of the Harpy, on the back of her then-missing dragon, Drogon. In the season finale, we learned that Tyrion and Varys would stay in Meereen with Missandei (Nathalie Emmanuel) to rule over the city, while Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen) and Daahrio Naharis (Michiel Huisman) set off on a journey to find Dany.

At the end of Season 5, Dany was surrounded by a massive army of Dothraki soldiers, leaving her fate uncertain. In the footage we've seen so far, it's clear that the former Khaleesi has been enslaved by these Dothraki warriors, whom she once ruled over, and this trailer shows Dany getting whipped by one of her captors. Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not Jorah and Daahrio will be able to track her down, and even if they do, it's unclear if they would even be able to rescue her safely, among hundreds of vicious Dothraki killers.

This trailer also gives us new glimpses at the Night's King, who first surfaced in the Season 5 episode Hardhome, and the returning Bran Stark (Isaac Hemsptead-Wright), who sat out all of Season 5. We also get glimpses of Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jamie's (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) passionate reunion and plenty of action-packed battle scenes. Check out the new trailer below, and stay tuned for more footage as we get closer and closer to the April 24 premiere on HBO.
