Rose Leslie, best known for playing the wild warrior Ygritte on HBO's hit drama series Game of Thrones, isn't straying too far with her next role, taking on the female lead in the fantasy epic The Last Witch Hunter. She will star opposite Vin Diesel, who has long been attached to the supernatural action thriller.

Directed by Breck Eisner, known for the cult hit remake The Crazies and the action adventure Sahara, The Last Witch Hunter will follow a semi-immortal witch killer who roams the streets of modern day New York, partnered with his natural enemy, a witch looking to stop a much more powerful witch queen from obtaining an ancient relic that will unleash a deadly plague on the earth's populace.

Rose Leslie is set to play Vin Diesel's good witch partner and love interest. Gods of Egypt writers Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama were recently brought into do a polish on the screenplay.

In development for a few years, The Last Witch Hunter will finally go before cameras this August in Pittsburgh.
