In a story from Heat Vision, Universal and Working Title have snapped up the rights to the Internet short/trailer by Gary Shore titled Cup of Tears.

The plan now is to turn it into a feature.

Shore is best known for commercials. He started making Tears on his own as a way to move into the feature business with an original story. It took Shore about six months to complete the short.

The trailer debuted this past fall. Cup of Tears "offered stunning visuals of Japanese castles, samurais and ninjas - not to mention missiles and spaceships."

Shore has penned a treatment for the story and a writer is going to be brought in to flesh it out. Shore is going to direct this project.
