It's official. 20th Century Fox has picked its director for Wolverine. According to Variety, Tsotsi director Gavin Hood has come aboard the solo mutant project.

Hugh Jackman is set to reprise his role as the fearsome mutant in a script written by David Benioff. The story, a spin-off from the X-Men films, will mix and match classic Wolverine folklore to give a fresh, original take on Logan's origin story. We'll finally get to see how he became endowed with those sharp adamantium claws.
