Prime Video has just released a first-look trailer for Gen V, a spinoff to the hit superhero satire series The Boys. Set in a special university for budding superheroes learning how to use their superhuman abilities, Gen V introduces an all-new cast of characters, but as seen in the new trailer, some familiar faces will be popping up as well. Gen V Will Be No Less Bloody Than The Boys

There might be an all-new cast, but that doesn't mean that Gen V will be all that different from its parent series. Eric Kripke previously spoke about how the spinoff will serve as a companion series for The Boys, and that includes maintaining the same vibe with the humor and over-the-top violence. As we can see in the trailer, the spinoff will be no less bloody. Kripke had also teased the crossovers that would be happening that would further merge the two different shows.

"There’s certain things that are happening at that school that are both in reaction to season 3 of The Boys.," Kripke told Deadline. "There’s Soldier Boy, etcetera, but also some new storylines that are happening in that season of the spinoff that we have to pick up and take into season 4 of the show."

Gen V will stream on Prime Video in 2023, with an exact premiere date yet to be announced. The fourth season of The Boys is also expected to arrive in 2023.
