According to Variety, Geoffrey Rush is joining Eric Bana and Daniel Craig in the cast of Steven Spielberg's untitled Munich Olympics project, which begins shooting in Europe this July.
The Munich pic, a DreamWorks and Universal co-production, is set to bow Dec. 23.
The pic, scripted by Tony Kushner, follows the aftermath of the 1972 Munich Olympics, where members of the Israeli team were held hostage and slain by Palestinian extremists. The nature of Rush's role is being held close to the vest.
Spielberg, Kathleen Kennedy, Barry Mendel and Colin Wilson are producing.
The Munich project will mark another quick turnaround for Spielberg, who just wrapped DreamWorks and Paramount's War of the Worlds, which was produced in just 10 months.
