President George Bush has less than a week left in office, and he wants to say goodbye to the American people. According to Variety, President Bush has requested time from the networks this Thursday for a farewell address.

The President put in the request to ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox yesterday for between 10 and 15 minutes for a live, primetime farewell address to the nation. The networks didn't indicate whether they would approve or not, but it seemed most would approve the address, although some might not, given the coverage that would ensue on cable television.

Traditionally, Presidential primetime addresses have aired at 9 PM ET, which would pre-empt East Coast airings of hit series like The Office, Grey's Anatomy and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
