Actors George Clooney and Angelina Jolie have both been set to star in a new film entitled The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe, according to the UK site The Times.

Clooney and Jolie will be portraying iconic American entertainers Frank Sinatra and Marilyn Monroe. The film will be an adaptation of an Andrew O'Hagan novel, which will be published in December. O'Hagan announced the news of the adaptation at the Edinburgh International Book Festival over the weekend.

The novel is set up as a biography of Marilyn Monroe, but told through the eyes of a maltese poodle named Mafia Honey a.k.a. Maf, who was given to Monroe as a present by Sinatra.

It wasn't said who would be playing Maf the dog as of yet, and no director was announced for the project, although O'Hagan announced at the festival that the film will go into production in the near future. We'll be sure to keep you posted with any further details on The Life and Opinions of Maf the Dog, and of His Friend, Marilyn Monroe as soon as we have more information.
