Fifty years later, George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" has finally gotten an official music video. While Harrison sadly left us in 2001, his family and friends have banded together with celebrity fans to make the video a must-watch for anyone who loves George's work. From Ringo Starr to Mark Hamill, there are plenty of stars to see in the video, which you can check out below.

The music video is written and directed by Lance Bangs. Dhani Harrison and David Zonshine executive produced. The video is made in celebration of the 50th anniversary of George Harrison's classic solo album, All Things Must Pass, and it comes with a suite of new releases including a stunning new mix of the classic album by Grammy Award-winning mixer/engineer Paul Hicks, and overseen by Dhani Harrison.

“Making this was one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life,” Bangs in a statement, per Deadline. “The approach was to represent the song visually while these agents and inspectors kept missing the metaphysical wonder around them. Images are choreographed to the sounds of vocal melodies, guitar strums, drum patterns, chord changes."

The director added: “George threaded a sense of humor through all of his videos, so we kept that spirit and filled the cast with friends and admirers of his music, many coming from the current comedy landscape. I tracked down vintage prime lenses from some of the films George’s HandMade Films had produced, and I hope that viewers can feel a sense of wonder and searching while they watch it, and that the song continues to add to all of our lives.”

George Harrison's former bandmates Ringo Starr and Jeff Lynne are featured in the video, as are his wife Olivia and son Dhani. Darren Criss, Jon Hamm, Rosanna Arquette, Joe Walsh, “Weird Al” Yankovic, Reggie Watts, Moshe Kasher, Natasha Leggero, Patton Oswalt, Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim, Garfunkel and Oates (Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome), Taika Waititi, Shepard Fairey, Aimee Mullins, and Rupert Friend.

Some of the celebrities who appear in the video have spoken about the honor. In a tweet, "Weird Al" Yankovic said he could finally "get to cross 'be in a George Harrison music video' off my bucket list." Mark Hamill also tweeted, "To celebrate George Harrison's 'All Things Must Pass 50th Anniversary', you really should watch the new video for 'My Sweet Lord.' It features TONS of cameos including one from RINGO." Darren Criss added, "Was asked if I wanted to be in a new music video for 'My Sweet Lord' to celebrate the 50th anniversary of George Harrison’s seminal album All Things Must Pass … UUH DUHH OBVIOUSLY. But then to find out there’d also be an all-star cameo cast of some of my favorite musicians, actors, directors, and comedians in it as well? Sweet Lord!"

This new music video for George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord" features a new 2020 mix of the song mixed by engineer Paul Hicks.
