In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, George Strait is going to star in A Pure Country Gift for Warner Bros. The film is a follow-up to his 1992 film Pure Country.

A Pure Country Gift will be directed by Chris Cain. He directed the first movie. He also wrote the script with his son Dean Cain (Lois & Clark).

The first film was made for $9 million and it took in $15 million at the domestic boxoffice.

A Pure Country Gift focuses on "three angels who give the gift of a beautiful singing voice to a baby girl."

"In her climb to fame and fortune, she breaks some of the angels' rules, so they take away her big voice," Cain said. "Life has rules; if you follow them, life works. That's the moral of the story."

The lead in the film is played by Katrina Elam. She is presently a country singer who is making her acting debut. A Pure Country Gift is currently filming in Nashville.
