A blitz of photos from G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra were released this past summer, and since that time, nearly everything has been quiet from the production. Well, today a new photo has been released from the film, courtesy of Latino Review. The photo shows Gerald Okamura as the enigmatic Hard Master, the leader of the ninja clan responsible for training both Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes.

Fans of the G.I. Joe comics will remember that the Hard Master is a key part of the rivalry between the resident ninjas of the G.I. Joe and Cobra organizations. Considering that filmmakers have repeatedly said that the rivalry between Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow will be a key element of the film, so it seems likely that Okamura's character will feature somewhat prominently.

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra is scheduled for an August 7, 2009 release. The film stars Ray Parks, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Said Taghmaoui, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Marlon Wayans, Channing Tatum, Dennis Quiad, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo, Karolina Isela Kurkov, Byung Hun Lee and Christopher Eccleston.
