Hellboy: According to The Hollywood Reporter, In the first film marketing venture of its kind, Sony Pictures and Best Buy have partnered to give away free preview DVDs of the soon-to-be-released Hellboy, containing film highlights and behind-the-scenes footage of the supernatural action adventure.

The promotional DVD, which carries the Best Buy logo, is packaged in the same type of DVD box as full-length feature films. It contains 10 minutes of Hellboy footage, plus additional material. The DVDs have been available exclusively at checkout counters in Best Buy stores nationwide since March 8th and are being snapped up by customers, according to Best Buy.

By giving away film clips, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Hellboy's filmmakers and stars nearly four weeks ahead of the film's April 2 release, Sony is using material usually reserved for DVD releases in an effort to attract a broader audience to the Columbia/Revolution Studios film based on Mike Mignola's popular Dark Horse comic series of the same name.
